Library
Materials and Resources
- The
Glover-Spencer Memorial Library serves the community of Rush Springs
and its surrounding area by offering over 11,000 printed books, and
1,000 videos in VHS format for its patrons use. New materials
are added regularly.
- The library also
offers free computer and internet use. There are three
public-access computers loaded with all the programs in Microsoft
Office 2000 Premium Edition for word processing, publishing,
spreadsheet, or database. Also included are several student
reference programs and educational games for children.
- Laser printing,
photocopying, and facsimile services are available for a fee.
Library Card Policy
- New patrons who
desire to check out materials must have their information on file with
the library. Simply provide your name, mailing address, and
telephone number to the librarian at the circulation desk.
- Juvenile patrons
under the age of sixteen must have a parent or legal guardian establish
an account for them.
Borrowing
Information
- The loan period
for books is two weeks (14 days); books may be
renewed once for an additional two weeks.
- Videos may be
checked out for one week (7 days); the loan period for videos may not
be renewed.
- Reference volumes
(call numbers beginning with REF) are available only for use in the library and may not be checked out.
Fines for Overdue
Materials
- The fine for overdue books is $0.05 per
day, per book.
- The fine for
overdue videos is $0.10 per day, per video.
- The charge for
lost or irreparably damaged materials is
the original cost of the items.
Fees for Services
- Photocopies:
$0.25 per page.
- Laser
printing: $0.25 per page.
- Color inkjet
printing: $0.50 per page.
- Facsimile:
$3.00 each to send $2.00 to receive
How to Use the
Catalog
- Follow the
hyperlink to OPAC on the home page, or enter the address in your
browser: http://glover.booksys.net/opac/gsml/index.html
- Use the default
display for simple searches. Enter a search term and select
the search type: author, title, subject, or keyword.
Click on the Go button, or Enter on you keyboard. When
searching for an author, the last name may suffice, or add the
initial or full name in reverse order: (Jakes, John) or (Jakes,
J).
- For more complex
searches involving more than one criteria, or to limit criteria, select Search
on the drop-down menu. Then choose Combo or Expert
for entering multiple search criteria.
- For a list of the
latest materials in the library, select Visual Search on the
drop-down menu, and then select the Recent Additions icon.
- My Account
on the drop-down menu provides internet access to personal account
information (what materials you have checked out, and the ability to
renew them within set renewal limits). To access this feature, you
must request a personal identification number or password at the
library. The library does not maintain records of numbers or terms
chosen, so we cannot remind you if it is forgotten. You would need
to request a replacement, in person, with proper identification.
